It's been a tough month, I have been a proper promo whore with all the stuff we've ben up to, Godiva, Surface Unsigned, Cov Uni etc...but then just as we get to the crucial time of the gigs...my voice packs up..not too sure what it is at the moment.
It felt funny on Thursday night when i went to bed, then on friday, tried to sing and found it impossible to sing most of our tunes. Have a horrible feeling it's them nodules again...last time I had these I was off singing for 6 months.
So, Fridays gig at Cov Uni was cut short and had to drop most of the new tunes. Saturday I rested, Sunday was the Godiva live auditions...man we rocked a treat, had the most people there to help us through, well deseved to get through...but then oddly enough...we didnt ...some folk are callin it fixed...I think i'm starting to agree...as the band that did get through..hardly had anyone there! Hmmm..
So that left one thing left, Surface Unsigned in Birmingham. We had a practice on Monday and my voice got worse...I think we're gonna have to cancel...but wait..Kev and Chris start singing and playing...could this really work...it dosn't sound too bad...to be fair, I dont care..this is awesome, a huge feeling of team work..stepping up a gear to fill in the missing pieces...we are the strongest band in the world..nothing is gonna break us.
We turned up, luckily a band had pulled out so left us to beat just one band in the public vote to get to the judges..and we do...so all we gotta do is rock out as hard as we can right?..and we do, Kev and Chris sing, I do what I can, jump about a little more than usual..and the judges...seem to think we're worthy of playing the next round..get in!
I cant have enough time for the band right now, the guys stepped up when it was needed and we succeeded...although still feeling a little bitter about being cheated from playing Godiva...just have to wait and see what hapens next...
