Summer shutdown- September 2004

It rained and it rained hard!

Our 5 car convoy arrived around noonish, we collected our passes and thought it'd be best to set up camp before we played. There was a litttle break in the downpour so we missioned it to the camping area and started setting up. Thats when it hoofed it down on us, soaking everything.

Ben changed his mind without a second thought, Lewis and Jen's tent broke, Kev managed half of his and mine managed to get up fine. Rich put his up but had no cover for the roof so everything got soaked inside!

We then hit the bar for a couple to get warmed up a bit, the Superhero's are playing but have to stop as everything needs to be covered in bin bags. We get on stage around 2.40, stepping in puddles, placing our electrics on the nice wet floor then rocking out a pretty shit hot set. It didn't rain that much during our set but something was crackling from somewhere forcing us to stop a few times to sort out many technical problems. Kev swapping amps with Ben, changing mic's over too so we lost alot of FX and played it all a bit raw.

We finish playing, we went down well with the folk who braved the weather, packed up our stuff then hit the bar again. Not really too sure what we got up to but I ended waking up next to Sam with no pants on in my tent!

The whole evening ended up getting cancelled due to the weather and saftey which meant the headline act and hosts of the whole festival didn't get to play which sucked as thats one of the reason we stayed the night.

We all had a really good day and night and met some pretty cool people, just a shame about the weather. True Glastonbury spirit by all who were there.

I did lose my jeans to the rain and had to drive home in my boxers in the morning!
